Rocket Fuel: How testimonials can win you new business

This week, I've been having lots of conversations with people about the importance of testimonials and reviews and how they can help you win business.

Hi, everybody, Julie here, The Sales Ace, bringing you a sales tip to help skyrocket your business.

So this week, I have been having lots of conversations with people about the importance of testimonials and reviews and how they can help you win business.

Now what's really interesting is when I have this conversation with business owners, we concentrate a lot on LinkedIn and how that can help, particularly if they're in a business-to-business environment. But also, we talk about testimonials and getting these on the website, putting in place things to capture those.

Why are they important? Well, the world likes to look at testimonials and reviews to give them confidence in buying your service or product. So they play such an important role in building people's confidence in you.

I win business because I have reviews, not only on my website, but on my LinkedIn page, and I win business because of that. And these reviews aren’t, you know, “Mrs J from Wellingborough says…” These are genuine people, and that's why I love LinkedIn because you can link into people's profiles.

So that's fairly straightforward when we're talking to business owners and business individuals. But the same can be said when I talk to salespeople. Salespeople I find tend not to think about their own personal reviews and how important they are. So we know on LinkedIn, if you are a salesperson working for a business, you might have your own LinkedIn profile. That's your profile. That's about you and about your background and your experience. But again, even though you work for a company and their reviews may be strong and positive, people buy people.

People buy from people they like, know and trust. So there is huge value for you in actually making sure that your personal branding and your personal LinkedIn profile are playing a part in that journey that people are taking when they are looking to buy a product.

Because let's face it: you are the face of the company. You are the first person they see and you are the person that they buy into. So, if you're a salesperson in a sales role watching this video, do look at how you are taking the time to strengthen your own personal brand because people want that confidence in you.

So there we go. That's it for this week. I hope you've enjoyed it, and I will see you next week.
